The Oak Park Development is the first neighborhood in Oak Park.  It consists of 602 homes, 448 of which are single story.  The original square footage of these homes ranged in size from 1350 to 2561; there have been some additions.  This neighborhood was built from 1966 to 1972, and includes the original Oak Park model homes. The homes on Tamarind Street (east of Kanan Road) are on the Ventura/LA County line.
