The "Shop Local" Program

The "Shop Local" Campaign for Oak Park was created in the fall of 2010 by Oak Park Update Creator and Editor Brett Garrett. Brett is a licensed Realtor / General Contrator "Home Specialist" who serves Oak Park and the surrounding communities.

Brett can help you with Real Estate buying, selling, leasing and all phases of construction, home improvement and property management.

The idea of "Shop Local" came to Brett from talking to local Oak Park business owners and discovering that several retail stores in Oak Park are closing up due to high rents and low sales.

There are already several vacant store fronts in Oak Park and this community can't afford to see any more close. In an effort to help the retail stores remain open during these tough economic times Oak Park Update has offered to promote events and special sales offers submitted to Oak Park Update.

This is a Free service to ALL retail stores in Oak Park at no cost or fee to the business.

Want a cup of coffee, need a sandwich, want to buy clothing, are looking for a gift, need art lessons, pricing insurance, getting your hair or make up done, your dog groomed, your teeth fixed, to workout, have a great dinner, grab a donut, get a pizza delivered, mail something, get your clothes dry cleaned, make a scrap book, need a vet for your animal, want to get physical therapy, feel like sushi, want new glasses, feel like French food or just want to sit outside and people watch.

The Oak Park businesses offer all this and more.
